This Privacy Policy explains how Sportify ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you use sportifyplus.de and our AI-powered football talent discovery platform. We are committed to transparency and to handling your information responsibly under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
Sportify operates the platform and is the data controller for personal data processed through your account and use of our services. For questions about this policy or your data rights, use the contact details at the end of this page.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly and data generated when you use Sportify, including:
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), role (player, club, scout, fan, etc.), language preference and account settings.
- Player and club profiles: positions, statistics, biography, location, visibility settings, scouting notes, messages and other content you choose to publish.
- Videos and media: highlight uploads, thumbnails, metadata, views and engagement related to talent shorts and video features.
- Payment and subscription data: billing name, plan, transaction references and subscription status. Card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored on our servers.
- Social sign-in (OAuth): when you sign in with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn, we receive basic profile information (such as name and email) as permitted by that provider and your consent.
- Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, search queries, cookies and similar identifiers used to secure the service and improve performance.
How we use your data
We process personal data to provide and improve Sportify, including to:
- Enable scouting, player discovery, club recommendations and communication between users on the platform.
- Generate AI fit scores, talent insights and personalised recommendations based on profile and activity data.
- Manage memberships, FitPass, Only Talents subscriptions and other paid features.
- Send service-related messages, respond to support requests and deliver important account notifications.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms and comply with legal obligations.
We may also use aggregated or anonymised data to analyse trends and improve our services. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal basis (EU/EEA users)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the platform and subscriptions you request); legitimate interests (security, product improvement and scouting features, balanced against your rights); consent (optional cookies, marketing where applicable, and social sign-in); and legal obligation where required.
Third-party services
We share limited data with trusted processors who help us operate Sportify. These include:
- Google Sign-In — authentication when you choose to log in with Google.
- Facebook Login — authentication when you choose to log in with Facebook.
- Sign in with LinkedIn — authentication when you choose to log in with LinkedIn.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and purchases.
- PayPal — alternative payment processing where offered.
- ESPN and sports data feeds — match fixtures, standings, news and related football content displayed on the platform.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and applicable agreements. We only share information necessary to deliver the relevant feature.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and protect the platform. We may use analytics to understand how features are used and to improve performance. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may limit functionality.
How long we keep data
We retain account and profile data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to resolve disputes, meet legal requirements and maintain backups. Payment records are kept as required for accounting and tax law. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data subject to legal retention duties.
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure password hashing. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Germany, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

You control what appears on your public profile and can update many settings in your account. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by law.
Children
Sportify is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required by law or through a notice on the platform.
